The BIOQUANT Imaging Extensions for OSTEO include Stereology Grids. Stereology Grids provide an established set of tools for the stereological estimation of bone perimeter, bone area, and bone surface. See the BIOQUANT Imaging Extensions add-on brochure.
Calibrated Image Montage
Calibrated Image Montage puts a single image of the entire sampling area (e.g. tissue volume) in the Image window, making it simple to accurately draw the sampling area boundary. The BIOQUANT Imaging Toolkit Plug-in is required for this feature.
The Grid Wizard automatically generates sampling grids bounded by the Tissue Volume. Grids automatically re-size with changes in zoom level on the digital scan, or magnification if using live imaging.

- Cycloid Grids: Bone Surface Estimation
Panoptic Overview displays a complete map of the sampling area showing the sampling area boundary, the sampling grid, and sampling points. This window controls a motorized stage, moving it to disector locations.
Grids for Digital Scan
Grids can be bound to the Tissue Volume when zoomed out on the digital scan. They automatically re-size with changes in zoom level.
Grids Using Motorized Stages or Stage Encoders
Live imaging with Motorized Stages or Stage Encoders allow quick to travel to sampling locations. The software moves a motorized stage to each sampling location.
Reports Data Clearly
Complete Audit Trail
A Complete Audit Trail records sampling area contours, sampling grids, cell count and intersection count markers so that sampling may be paused at any time and sampling schemes may be redisplayed on sections long after the data collection.
